Where to find any old rotory

Well every once and a while I stick my head in hear to see whats going on and after looking at a few and looking some more. I want either a RX3 or 4 or a REP bad. Its like I have to have one now for some reason. Kinda fits my style I guess. I am not new to rotories in general (owned about 5 FCs and 3 FBs 1 FD shell) And a motor running or not dosnt effect me at all. I am basically wanting to know what to look for when I go to buy one(hopefully the near future)......like besides like you know the check for normal wear and tear....rust....rust....and you know stufff like that. But is there anything in particular to look for as a yay or nay for buying

Also besides E-bay were are some good places to look for a cheap one....something that I dont have to pay a ton for but is in decent shape(by decent I mean the floor isnt missing and stuff like that) I should have about $2000 to spend on buying just teh car thanks alot guys and i hope to own an oldie soon.

JUST KEEP YOU EYE OUT.

i found two RX2s sitting in a guys yard.

found an 808 (piston version of the RX3) sitting in a driveway.

I know of a few repus that are rotting away,

you realyl jsut need to keep your eyes open, and make friends with anybody in
your area who has one. often he knows where to find another. Lates Matt

It depends on the area you live in too. They are more abundant in the West, and North West. They also show up in the South West. Anywhere else, and you are looking for a needle in a haystack.

For 2K-3K you may be able to find a RX3 shell. However, 3's seem to be the most expensive, and hardest to find. You will definetly be able to find a 2, 4 or Repu rolling shell, for that kind of money. Out of all of them the 2's seem to be the easiest to find.

depending on the car there are some things to look out for

2's rust out around the windows, and less often in the trunk. This is normal, and you will be hard pressed to find one without some rust around the windows. Most importantly make sure the car is complete. Parts are hard to find. No one in the US has replacement glass for them. Chrome is very expensive, if you can even find someone selling it, and body parts are next to impossible to find.

3's rust out in the front fenders, and I think they have issues with the floor, and rear rocker panel area. But, someone with more experience will have to chime in on that one. Again, make sure it is complete. It is a bitch to find parts for them.

Repu's in decent running condition when available go for about 3K-4K. You will have a little better luck with parts, as they share many parts with the ford courier.

Good luck on your search.

Check the autotrader and recycler. Also craigslist and cars.com.

I found this one in the Long Beach area, but it's pretty much a shell and it has no paperwork. Too much of a headache for me to deal with.

Timing is every thing, It only took me two week to find my 3's when I started looking for em last year. I found the firts one here from one of the member who pointed me to the right direction....And by some god given luck I found an SP on the recycler the same week I bought the 73, I just couldnt pass it up so I bought that one too.
