Whatever happened to....

Those rumors of a 4th gen RX-7? I haven't really came here in a long while (I'm still an exhaust leak...... so sad), and I haven't spoke with anyone on the matter........ Are there any new rumors? Or perhaps it being proven completely wrong? Just curious.... It came to mind suddenly tonight.... And I was wondering if there was anything new, and anymore of those pictures (which, to my opinion, many of them looked a lot different heh.....)....

Just curious.

If this is a stupid post, don't yell at me :p

I doubt the RX-8 sold enough units for Ford to justify a new RX-7. It's just as well for them, so sales won't be taken away from the Mustang.

The RX8 actually is a real well seller! Mazda already built over 50.000! They are planning a capacity of 75.000 a year (I believe) and have postponed the introduction in europe for months, due to the demand in Japan and USA. Two days ago I saw 50+ RX8's on two trains (I work as a train driver), that was about 20-25% of all the Mazda's on those trains!
It's just not the right time for any rumours about a new Seven: it'd take sales away from the RX-8!

Ah yes.. The Mustang. It annoys me so. I see them too often And I find a lot of the drivers here in them have extremely high egos... I've drove 3.. I'd take my Honda any day, far better handling and feeling heh heh.

Anyway...... That's cool about the RX8s and all. I used to like them, but now I don't like them quite as much. I'm more for the 7's anyway I only know one person here with an 8 though... (Course I know no one around here with a 7....)

I liked the RX-8 before it came out, then I found out that their power was reduced for some reason. I started to dislike them a bit. Then I found out the ECU was tweaked for US emissions and the dyno runs people were complaining about gave inaccurate info (due to tire speed sensors on all four wheels making the ECU sort of go into semi-limp mode). I imediately started to like the RX-8 again. I like them more and more as the weeks go by.

I don't even have an RX-7. Rotary power for me isn't limited to just a sports car.

I do recall hearing and reading lots into the RX-8 power reduction thing... And thinking a lot of the griping was kind of dumb, especially when it started to get to the point of smaller and smaller differences in HP....

I really liked the RX-8 before it came out, but now I'm not so sure... Part of the design kind of bugs me... Are those over-fenders... Just... Bugs me for some reason. Well, at least from some angles. Sometimes I don't notice it, othertimes, it just seems too noticable.......

Well, I really love the RX-8. I know you guys had this stupid stuff going on about the HP numbers etc, which we didn't have, but still, I find this car a very brave and beautifull design.
Overhere the cars have either 192 or 231hp (Euro4 emmissions are very much limiting the power levels), but since they reach that on a NA engine, I believe we can all agree Mazda did some impressing development on the Wankel rotary engine...

Oh, I didn't care about the numbers. I was just saying it was stupid, especially when people started thinking it was like 3hp lower than some other results or something.........

I do kinda like the car, minus the fenders on the front ....
