what is JDM?

please don't make fun of me I am a technical retard and I got my first car today (is 16 years old) so give me sme leeway. Is it a special production or somehting? I know it isn't Rx-7 exclusive, but I'd like to know for my automotive future.

"JDM" simply means "Japan Domestic Market" or a car/part that was made to be sold in Japan only. A JDM RX-7 is a Rx-7 made to be sold in Japan. Any other car would be an export model.

hey now, we were noobs once too... JDM is cars or parts from the Japanese market.

Something on Rx-7s for example... "JDM" FTP lenses have actual lights in them, while in the U.S. models use the light from the Headlights to pass light through the "Flash-to-pass" lenses... people put those on their car to make their car seem more Japanese, or JDM. People like "JDM" so much because the parts are more rare, and people like to be different. This forum tends to be rather hostile towards "ricers" and "JDM" and the type of style shown in "Fast and the Furius"... So whatver your style is do it, but as you have already found out... you will get "flamed" (picked on) for being a ricer, JDM, whatever by a lot of people on this forum. And the search tool is your friend, use it before posting questions... even though "JDM" does need a little explaining...

later,

Paul

no, I think it means get a life douschebag. "JDM" stands for "Japanese Domestic Market" as said above. "USDM" is "United States Domestic Market" etc. Then you have "DTM" which is the German car companies.

Because people that don't search in forums and they go on ebay and see jdm and go "OMG JDM YO!" So they pay cheap money(it can be a lot also) for shitty plastic things or knockoff parts. In the case of the "jdm rx7 round tail lights" you will prolly pay a lot, even though they are usdm tails.
