Weber 44 IDF

I am looking at getting a new 44IDF carb for my stock port 12a...I realize the 48 IDA is the usual chosen path, but this seems like an affordable alternative. Anyone running ine of these??? Feedback appreciated. Thanks

Here is the link to what I am looking at.

my lil bro ran one on a 12A with a very agressive street port, it ran like a champ. He upgraded to a 48IDA and is making much more power but everyone's set up is different

Yeah...these seem to work ok. I did a search and noticed Billy from RE Speed had one on a Rx3 not too long ago. No complaints. I guess it will be a bit of research to find out what jetting works best for what engine etc etc, but this seems to be a nice entry level to getting into webers. A weber manual might not be a bad idea to pick up along with this.

I figure at least another 100-150 in jets, spacers, throttle bracketry, and air filter and housing. I have an IDA manifold already and it looks like it can work with the IDF.....is this a correct assumption?

I ran a 48idf on a 13b 6port, with no problems back in the day. I know of this place that still sells them new.

If my memory serves me... the manifold was specifically made for the idf, I think Unlimited rpms, out in Riverside California. At the time they made sand rails. Not sure if they're still in business. Do you have the 44 idf? and looking for just the manifold?

Did you try contacting this fellow forum member? It's an old post but also worth a shot.

Thanks for the links and the info...I do not have the carb but was looking into getting it since I already an 48 ida mani. I was under the impression they could be made to work together thus saving me quite a bit of money. It looks like I was mistaken. I will reach out and see what's available, but the money I spend there could easily make up the difference to a 48ida carb.
