turbo renesis- enough said-

Out of pure cuirosity- have read countless times that the renesis engine is thus far teh best desinged rotary engine. Although there is much talk bout it being under powered- well lets compare the turbo end of it-

i think may of us rotory fans (no pun intended) are comparing the NA renesis to the 13b rew twin turbo rx-7 and are disapointed. with that thought-

what power is being made via dyno results on mild built twin turbo (as the rx7 was) renesis motor.

if one compars the NA rx7 (fd) to the na rx8 what is the true power difference on the dyno?

Is the renesis that much better of a performer- or is it just more reliable? This is the question.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_...ngine#13B-Turbo

as you can see the 13b dei is making less power from the start as an NA motor (160hp max stock) vs teh suposed 190-200hp rwhp btw out of the renesis- this is why i am curious about a twin turbo renesis motor. how much power does it make mildly built (not to be redundent)?

I am asking this here as well as the rx8 club forum- to get more views if you have already read this i apologize to have posted twice to you- i am simply looking for more traffic.

What twin turbo renesis motor? Its never been made.

If you are talking about the twin turbo 13B in FD's, they make 250ish horsepower at the flywheel. The Renesis makes 238 flywheel horsepower. A twelve horsepower difference, and the Renesis is all motor, and much lighter of an engine. The Renesis is much more of a performance engine from the factory than the twin turbo 13B without the twin turbos.

throw the 13b renesis in a 92 gutted miata I think you will be all set.

as glitch said only one renesis motor came from factory and that is a rx8 motor.

The RX8, with no traction control, dynos around 180-190rwhp.

The FD dynos around 210-220rwhp.

(GReddy) With a small single, the RX8 dynos around 250rwhp. The turbo is roughly the size of the stock 2nd gen RX7..both lose power on the top end at max efficiency.

With a GT35R, an RX8 has made around 375rwhp, roughly that of the FD with a GT35R. The only problem thus far is having it make that power reliably..
