i dont usually post in here cuz i own a 1st gen but my syncros are going out and i have a friend with an 87' b2200 in his yard and he is willing to let me have his transmission to replace mine but i dont know if a five speed out of one of those trucks will bolt up to a 12a.
any help would be appreciated.

..
You will have to use your bellhousing and grind down the front input shaft so it fits into the 12A pilot bearing.
If your car is a 1978-1980 you just have to change the shifter.
If your car is a 1981-1991 you will have to use the tail-end of your tranny on the B2200 tranny .

Driveshafts are all the same spline NA Rx7 & B2000 B2200

If someone gets lucky with a 1981-1983 B2000 tranny...you can enjoy the 4.07 first gear ... Alot better than the 3.62 first in rx7 trannies..For drag racing at least

Maybe I'm missing something here, 1st Gen trannies don't have removable bellhousings.

When you put the 12a bell housing on a 86-93 b2200 tranny the input shaft will be too long. I just had it done and it does not work. I am researching input shaft modifications.
