Thinking about buying an RX-2 - need input

Can you guys give me a breakdown on the 73 RX-2's? I've got an 85 4-port 13B 7 now and want to know what kinds of problems oddities I'm getting into. I've seen a lot of ignition threads - is elec. ignition an easy mod for someone who's swapped motors before? The body needs a little love but isn't bad at all, though the interior's pretty thrashed. Just looking for some advice.

I'm thinking 85 13b was a 6 port fuel injectd. I've owned my76 RX4 since 78. and as time went on and it no longer became my main ride I've done up grades, twin turbos, twin fuel injection, 2nd gen suspesion front and rear, and other things planed but it takes TIME,like the last 14 years. a little now and a little then no rush. got a place to keep it. Play with this and that, doner cars are nice

I have (2) '73 RX2s. One 2dr and a 4dr. My issue with them is the difficulty of finding parts. You cannot find a brake master cylinder, brake booster, rear struts, ball joint, tie rod ends... and the list goes on.

Yep, your rite parts are to find, but therer are lots of 2nd gens out there that can be used as doner cars for up grades, and yes a 6port fuel injected is do able. Got the hart go for it, breth life into it.

Aussie is the place for spares... just a long way to ship stuff.

eBay is a great place to find parts . . . yes those parts are hard/impossible to find. but the ingenuitive mechanic can adapt parts from later Mazda's to the RX-2. Ignition, specifically the DLIDFIS is pretty easy, once you get all the parts together.
