Question SS8 -- who's going?

Hey guys, just wondering who from the "old school" group is planning on going to this years SS8 and what car are you bringing?

I'm fairly sure I'm taking the '73 RX-2, driving down from Sacramento. Hopefully this year I will get in with the rest of the RX-2s and other old schoolers.. last year we sorta got shoved off to some side alley, but I guess that's what you get for showing up @ the gates at 9AM.

Maybe we could have an unofficial old school swap meet? Heh, anyone need any RX-2 parts? I still need a straight front bumper if anyone has one, have tons of parts I pulled from a '73 coupe recently.

Yeah that was a pretty bad spot. I pulled my my car out of there last year at around 2PM, and people kept asking "hey I didn't see you earlier, where were ya?" etc., and I had to explain I was in the side alley by the dumpster. Heh

I'm going. Bringing the 95 volvo. It will be quite a trek, probably 40 Mins or so.

Actually if either of the RX 2's I have are running, I may take one of them, but I will be there for sure.

Maybe...probably late though...I have recently found that teaching 5th grade is a 24/7 job with very little spare time.

I took mostly old school pics also, will post them up soon enough.

dang, I think they should make people wear nametags with our forum nicks on them.. heh, there's a few people I was probably standing right next to that I didn't know were even there.

Did you make it Jamie? I don't recall seeing you car there.. but then again I've only seen pics of it online, not in person.

Mine was the white RX-2 with Auto Bahns, front airdam & rear spoiler, Gilmer drive, etc.. was right in front of the "Godzilla Defense Force" RX-2.

Thanks, I try.. my paint isn't as nice as some of the other '2s that were out there, but mine is a daily driver basically so I'm not exactly sure I'd want a mint paint job. I'd be too paranoid about taking it anywhere.

Did you have a 510 there?

Yes, the white one parked next to the lime green RX-2. Oh and I know exactly how you feel about the paranoid part.

Thumbs down

Well, I have bad news for everyone. I didnt wanna say anything at first but I just want everyone to be aware that there is a snake in our community.

An ******* @ SS8 keyed my RX-3 and my friends green RX-2. yeah, the duece with a "for sale" sign. Im not pissed about my car since it needs a body work anyway but his car is so clean!!! He has no plans on taking it to another SS event..thats if he decides to keep it.

Fucken idiots!!!! I saw about a 3 inch key mark right above the drivers side door on the green one. Did someone do additional damage to it? what did they do to yours?

The other one is right above his right front fender wells.

I got a deep one, above 4 inches long, below the passenger side rear window.
