Keying at a car show.

This
makes
me
sick
.

Can't believe this happened, never imagined rotorheads would do this AT Mazda R&D. Now I need to check over my REPU for keying......

SORRY Mel, and condolences to the deuce, that is a sweet car and like I said my GF is looking for an old school rotary and that one is a contender.

Jealousy is an evil thing. That really sucks too, as I was thinking about picking up that green one.

An ******* @ SS8 keyed my RX-3 and my friends green RX-2. yeah, the duece with a "for sale" sign. Im not pissed about my car since it needs a body work anyway but his car is so clean!!! He has no plans on taking it to another SS event..thats if he decides to keep it.

The nerve of someone to do this...is just unreal. Im sorry Mel and the RX2 owner. On the other hand do you think someone might have done this by mistake? Maybe their jeans or pants or something had some metal or a button on them and they leaned up against the car and it got scratched? I dont know. Carl

Wow, what's up with that? at a show no less, you would think with enthusiasts like yourself, it would be safer than the Albertsons parking lot. You can't trust some ppl. I've seen the RX-2 at the JCCS, its very nice.

Maybe it was the RX8 owners upset that 30 + year old cars were getting 3x the attention as their cars. Rx8s have no sould in my opinion, I walked right past the whole row of them a SS

Another thing if stuff like this continues to happen. On your Weber 48 or 51 ida's id run an air filter or some velocity stack covers. It would be real easy for someone to drop a bolt or a rock down the carb and it ruin your motor. To me that would be way worse than somone keying my car. I saw alot of open hoods and not many air filters on these webers. Carl

first that orange rx2 is so sweet. second sorry to those whose cars were keyed. that sucks, however no body has mention the possibility of it being non mazda people. did you guys let the organizers know. who know how many other this might have happened too? I so want to go next year. SS sounds like one hell of a time.

what do you guy think of this. If i go next year i would want to trailer my car most of the way. maybe leave it and the trailer at some ones house and driv emy duece the rest of the way. God seeing all those nice cars make me wish i had a garage to work in. I really need to move to cali with the rest of you old schoolers. anybody want a room mate? lol

I'd definitely rule out "accidental" if it happened to 3 cars.. it's just unfortunate. What's odd is that nobody saw anything.

hey can you guys email a file of all your old school pics, and other cool pics taken from SS8. i have a huge limit for my email so dont worry about size unless its over 100 MB. thanks Matt
mattrobb22@hotmail.com

I only ask cause i am on dial up, and its alot easier to downlaod one or two files instead of a shitload of smaller ones.

i am currently enroled in an auto service tech course at my local college, we have about a dozen donar cars, we can do anything to them but sell for parts or as a whole, or swap parts out, i have presonally "tried" to key up a 2001 grand prix that had fallen off a truck and got donated, i tell ya auto paint is alot harder then people pretend it to be, it gets sratched easy. but also to "properly" key somethign down the the metal or even through the first layer of colored paint requires alot of pressure, a peron would had to have most of thier weight against the car for it to "accidnetal" (my spelling sux i know) but thats all i really have to say

(20th Post woth out spaming the forums......... i think)

Mad props to the guys that restore all cars, they freaking rule, i'm currently helping restore a 65 baccacuda, so i know it can be a sweet pain in the ***, but so satisfing in the end, good job on those old skool cars they are somthign that can never be beat. and my fist will go into anyones face if i ever see that at a car show, maybee even a kick in the *****, if we all do this maybee people will get the point. enough ranting and raving. remember to drive the car like ya stole it!!! (everyonce in a while :P)

Guys,

Are you sure about the Green RX-2? Monte Mullins and I spent quite a bit of time looking over the car and talking with the owner. When I mentioned the scratch on his door, he told me that he had accidently inflicted the pain himself when installing his trick door locks. Unless someone scratched it yet AGAIN later in the day. I was looking it over closely because I was thinking about buying it, but when I got home the wiffy said we couldn't have more cars than garage stalls. Anyone know if he's sold it yet??

Man... this really sucks and makes me want to stay closer to my car next year. I always see a few baby strollers at the event which makes me very nervous. Probably some doublewide chick squeezing in too close with AC/DC studs on her..... well you know.
