MI RX7/RX3 Distributor

Can someone please set me right on changing the dizzy from an rx7 itno an rx3? Please A link or thread or whatever. I am not getting a hot enough spark. new points, new condensers,,new plugs new wires. It will fire two three times but not start. Cant check compression,but wil l inject oil into plug holes. Gas pump is new,and its getting gas. It's driving me bats. Maybe new coils???? how do I check them? HELP Bob

An electronic ignition upgrade will solve your weak s[park issues. Dump the points dizzy since you were wanting to swap them anyway. The wiring is pretty basic but you will need two coils designed for transistorized ignition. There is a lot of info on the forum. Use the search function.

Make sure your spark plugs are clean. If they are dirty - fuel or oil soaked, then you will have the issues that you describe. You can either blast them clean or replace with new spark plugs.

I usually blast them clean with a spark plug cleaner I purchased from harbor freight a few years ago. Gets me going every time...

Wire the dizzy coil's + terminals directly to the battery then start. turn off the engine. remove the wire to the battery and start away. If not, the ignition is shutting off when the key is on "Start" position. you will need to re-wire it
