Hey man don't give up! You're doing something very unique its going to take a lot of blood sweat and tears which i'm sure you already shed to get what you want out of this. Don't let that dream and fire that you have in you go away. Stay at it plus you got this whole forum for support.

I compression tested earlier today, it was low, but even compression on both rotors, which seems odd because ive been told many times from diff people that the engine was rebuilt. im gonna buy a new compression tester, the one im using is old and im not sure how good it is..... hoping for the best but expecting the worst....

down and out? dude, you're doing a whole different setup. although i love the corolla twin cams and i am a old skool corolla freak, i love my 7....that nasty bitch of a car that hates me....lol
so idecided one day to go from a bone stock gsl-se and do a TII swap...no biggie..right?
1. 1st motor came with mismatched rotors...vibrated so bad an elephant asked me for the setup to get off on friday nights...out came that motor/
2. motor #2...it runs good, gave iot a little boost after tuning...SNAP!! broken dowel pin...out came that motor....
3. motor #3..on the dyno something goes wrong and it loses compression..out came that motor....pull it all apart yet again somehow the side seal clearance wasnt that great this time.
4. again, motor back in, on the dyno...runs great, making power, so we decide to finish the tune the following day.....go back and it wont fire up...low compression again...out came that motor...
5. all new seals, springs, and anything else went into this motor....went to steve kan to tune...worked out a lot of bugs, steve gets the car going like a swiss watch....clutch begins to act up....it lets go on a run and boost goes from 16 to 24 faster than a hooker after a fresh $100 bill. dowel pin goes since we had not tuned for that hi boost yet. we had just begun the race gas tune....drive back 624 miles from ft. worth....and guess what? you got it, out came that motor....
6. currently being redone with fd parts....
i havent given up...but i have developed a drinking problem.....lol
after seeing what my car can do in the hands of steve kan....it lit up my love again.....
keep at it, and keep the thread updated.
this is a badass project!

Loving this build. One day, you should take a vacation to Puerto Rico and check out the rotary corollas there. ***** are crazy! keep up the good work. start small when looking for problems.

dang man that was sweet. like everyone else said just stick with it. took me 6 months to get my turbo swap finished. the day i did the motor blew 30 minutes after getting it started, learned the hard way how to rebuild an engine. i fought with that motor for another 2 months. then it blew too. it gets rough. now im in the middle of rebuilding my next motor. but i decided on a different starting point.
