ReSpeed Rx3 Build
We picked up a '77 SP to develop a number of new parts. This is not a full tear down build up like the wide body but it is getting fresh paint all over as time permits.
There were a number of things I wanted to change besides the suspension goodies we are developing. We went ahead and pulled everything from the firewall forward and sprayed it "Olympia Blue" in order for me to relive the joy of my first car
The brake master is 1981-1983 along with the proportioning valve. New hard lines were fabbed from the master to the valve. The fittings on the rest of the hard lines were removed and fine threaded fittings replaced the course threaded versions. There is about 1/32" clearance between the reservoir and the strut tower.
Mounted a FC coil to the strut tower. There are factory threaded holes that have the same bolt spacing as the coil. Completely bolt on. No trailing ignition. The 1980 distributor is triggering a MSD 6a.
Headlights were rewired with relays and directly wired to the battery with new wire. Fusible link was replaced with a FC fuse block. A new Re-Speed part was developed for the mounting. Uses stock bolt locations on the passenger strut tower.
Camber plates are a aluminum "race" version of our standard Rx3 camber plates. Strut housings are 1979-1980 Rx7 units with our Mark II front big brake kit. Front shocks are our "Street Sport" Tokico HP. Our Street Coil Overs were fitted to the front with 275# springs.
We then started work on the replacement cradle for the Rx3s. The part is lighter than the stock unit. Features roll center correction pick up points for the control arms. Future development to add "more" benefits are being considered.

We then worked on the Rx3 strut bar and bolted the rest of the engine compartment back together.
The strut bar is offset 2 3/4" from center line and can be mounted either in front of the strut tower or behind the strut towers.
Next on the list for the car is to convert the rear to GSL-SE brakes.
Many new Re-Speed items have come from the build and there are many more to come. Keep an eye out on the website.

Yes, I am putting new floors in it at the moment. I hope to have it done by the end of the year.
Yes. Camber plates are almost complete for the Rx2. I also have new strut top for non-camber that allow for Rx7 struts to mount. Tubular arms for both are in the beginning stages.
Rx3 and 81-83 Rx7 masters are both 13/16" bore. The proportioning valve is the main reason for the swap. The availability of the rx7 master is another reason.

What is the best Rx7 masters and proportioning valve that will work good with big brakes setup and will fit my Rx3.
Thanks Carlos

Great, now I'm going to look like a copy cat. Although My engine bay is Rustoleom Blue.
have you been able to get any negative camber out of those camber plates with the rx-7 struts? I figured the only decent way to go about it was a custom control arm and swaybar/caster arm

Billy I am glad to she that she is coming to good use rather than sitting in my garage, is there anything that we are still needing to get to you for this?
Have you been able to work on the wing at all?

can you make one that will clear a 48 IDA with air filter? the pix shown has a IDF with no filter

with the current setup you can run a 3.5" tall air cleaner above the IDF. How much taller is the IDA? Would probably also come down to the manifold as well.

Wow I'm very glad to see that the RX3's are being worked on, I've been entertaining the idea of building an autocross RX3, but I wasn't sure if they can be made to handle well. I'd say with Illuminas and coilovers they do wonderfully.
