Rear Suspension questions 71 rx2

I need new shocks and coils in the rear. I am having trouble finding them. Also, I want to upgrade the coils to carry an extra 900 lbs in the rear. What do I need to do?

Thanks!

900lbs more weight to carry. Wow!

If you can find some coilovers that bolt in I would definately get stiffer springs. Eibach sells a wide variety of spring rates.

Banzai, can you confirm or deny the bolt spacing from the steering arm to the strut bottom is the same between 1st gen and Rx2' and 3's?

I know the first gen number. If you can let me know the 2 and 3 numbers that would be great.

I put a caliper on Crit's strut not to long ago but forgot to write it down

The rear coil over setup would be easy to do. Figure your compressed length and extended length on the rear shock and find one of the stock car companies that has one similar. Then call them and tell them how much weight front and rear you will have to come up with spring rates and valving.

The fronts you can use a coil over sleeve on the strut housing and then use a coil over spring with the rate you chose.

The only variable at this point would be front inserts now that you have that high of a spring rate. Probably need to mod the strut tube to put in a race insert from Koni or Bilstien.

Do the coil over systems include the shocks? Or do I need them seperately? I need new ones and have had a hard time finding some.

Still seems to sell some Rx-2/Rx-3 stuff. It says "WELD" though and doesn't seem to include the shocks.

Yeah, I called them. They will help, but I need to find the dampener/shock for it first. any suggestions?
