Question on the Rotary
Ok, this may be posted somewhere else, im not sure. The 13B is a 1.3 liter Dual Rotor. I hear people talking of the 20B. I assume this to be a 2.0 liter Tri-Rotor. The new Rx-7 is supposed to be a 1.5 liter dual rotor. Would this be a 15b then? Thanks

i remember reading somewhere that on the 13b engine each rotor is 650cc being that there is two would be 1300cc, i would have thought from reading about the new rx-7 it being a 1.5 it would be 750cc per rotor ?
yeah the 20b is a tripple rotor so that must be 2.0 650cc x 3 = 1950cc

You're pretty close there. However, there are no real facts on the new RX-7 right now, it ain't even for sure a new Seven will be produced.
Should there be one, a 15A or 15B would be an option, along with a turbo/supercharged Renesis (13B). Either of them will share the new developments of the Renesis. Since there were rumours the new RX-7 would get a bigger version of that engine, the 1.5l version seemed obvious, as Mazda has always increased engine capacity by increasing rotor width with 10mm. Doing so would give that 15B engine.
There's nothing confirmed though.
It'd be rather normal for the new RX-7 to be both more powerfull as well as more sportscar as the RX-8 (or even the FD). Since the Renesis apperently isn't a good base for a turbocharged engine, enlarging seems logic.
However, as turbo versions of that Renesis are already developed by aftermarket specialists, it doesn't seem impossible for Mazda to ga that route aswell.
I guess a lot will have to do with both costs and the emissions of both options.

I hope they make it much more sportscar than the Rx-8. I like the Rx-8, but its got 4 seats and 4 doors (kinda 4 doors)

it'll be like when the RX-2 and RX-3 were both sold at the same time, different targets.
