need 2006 RX7 info

Now that it has pretty much been determined that the rx8 is selling well. and assuming that it meets Mazda's standards in terms of the popularity of the rotary... will they release the new Rx-7 in 2006 like rumors say? if they do release it what will be it's approximate specs in terms of number of rotors, seats, hp, tq, and turbos. thanks in advance for any information.

Regards,
UntameD

Radical!

It's been close to a decade since the last RX-7 was produced. What you see is a never before seen picture of the new RX-7. The famous rotary engine will be used but they will be doing a full upgrade to produce more horsepower. The design of the car, shown below, looks a lot different from the last generation RX-7 but it still retains certain styling cues. Want the whole scoop on the story? Click on read more below!

The new engine in development should produce over 280hp -- well in competition range for the 350Z. The new engine might have a new type of rotary system. Suspension and frame may also be borrowed from the RX-8. The competition is ready, but now it's Mazda's turn to show the public the potential of the new RX-7.

I GOT THIS INFO FROM A SITE OG NEW CARS!

hes just messing with you man. there has been NO information officially released about the new rx-7. And deffinately not any pictures. The only information that has been confirmed by some mazda engineers and denied by others is the idea of increasing the rotor width to increase power.

Whatver you read, or saw about the new RX7, it is just rumours. Mazda might consider a new generation RX7, meaning they do not say no. But nothing at all is confirmed. IF it's going to be build, it'll most likely use a Renesis based engine, two rotor. They might increase rotor width or turbocharge the Renesis.
There is absolutely nothing confirmed.
A lot of pics come up on the internet, most of them photoshop or something. Thruth is, Mazda won't take the risk of introducing a new RX7 as long as the RX8 hasn't been confirmed bullet proof.
What is for sure is that they are looking into the possibilities of developing more rotary engined cars, using the RX8 platform. But "looking into" and actually developing is a big difference.
Just be carefull what you believe, these "car sites" need viewers too, you know...

Ummm, maybe not. The "series-8" version went from 99-02.

Thus its actually been close to a year since the last RX-7 was produced..........

Perhaps you are reffering to the American market which only got the "series-6" version, 92-95.....
