I might take some heat for this, but a rotary is for the most part an inefficient, unreliable performance engine. Putting such an engine into a non sports car just doesn't make sense to me. Too much work for a car that wouldn't really be able to utilize the benefits of a rotary. Gas mileage and reliability would be my main concerns in a Mazda 6, so I'd keep it with it's stock engine.

its brand new and with him driving it he averages 18MPG, where I average 19 over the same type of roads.
Maybe its the oxygenated gas we have hear.
I don't believe 31 /23 how did you check the mileage on a test drive?
The EPA figures are 26/18.

Easy, the distance we went, and the amount we put in the car each time. LOL.
We put over 100 miles on it, on the interstate, and then put gas in, and looked at the trip. Reset it, and then drove in the city, redlight after redlight, then filled it later, and checked the trip.
(did this because she has a friend whos family owns a dealership)

The way I see it, an FD already has a rotary engine and its a way better car and has much more potential than any mazda 6. Not to mention way cheaper. Putting a 13b in the mazda 6 would be expensive, and just not worth it IMO. But if you have the money and really want to do it for some reason then go for it I guess.
