Smile Junk Yard and other Barn Finds

This is not a FS thread.

I recently found some cool parts in odd places and wanted to share.

The grill was found at an out of the way wrecking yard a few weeks ago. Kinda shocked to find one in such good shape. Shocked just to find one in a wrecking yard. The RX3 tail lights were also at the same yard. Lucky finds.

The RX3 ignition and key were sitting behind some dusty parts at the local Mazda dealer and one of my contacts that works there and knew I was needing an ignition switch, saved it for me. Too bad that was the last of the 'old school' parts at the dealership.

If you have a good story of a rare/unique part, where it was found, etc. then post it up here.

Peace.

I found my car in the backyard of some old guy. It literally had a old toilet sitting on it. Now its almost ready to run.

No, all those pics I took are from the past few years, all from around Ontario.

The Rotary graveyard was RX-7Heaven in Ottawa, all the cars have been crushed and are gone now.

If all the calls are about rotary's, then EPA telephone number and email address happen to be exactly the same as my telephone number and email address.

I expect lots of calls.

Or call Wackey, he needs a few dozen more.

Unfortunately the R100 is on the back burner right now. I want to finish my Rx-4 and my TII before I start at that one. It's going to take a lot of work.

Might want to go back and pillage everything you think you (or someone else) 'might' need. Just too hard to find, so when you do, you grab EVERYTHING, from EVERY old school Mazda. Even if the parts are damaged, they are so unobtanium that you fix what you can get your hands on....

Theres a guy north of my place a couple hours with an rx4, a 79 rx7, and atleast enough parts to build a half dozen motors in his barn. Hasnt touched any of them in the past 15 years. Last I checked, he wasnt selling. But Im trying to work it out of him.
