New Addition to my Mazda Collection!
Well I put my family day to good use, and expanded my family of Mazdas. After about 10 hours of driving, some hard work to dig it out of the ground and get it out of the bush, it's now at home tucked away. You may be wondering by now what it is. I'm not sure of the year, I'll have to decode the VIN # (if possible), but it's a Mazda R100 Rotary Coupe! Complete with the original 10A twin distributor rotary engine. It's in pretty rough shape and will need ALOT of work......but I think I'll be up to the task. It looks alot worse than what it really is. It will need extensive exterior sheet metal work, some floor pan repair, and spare tire well. Otherwise it seems pretty solid. Anyway that's it for now. Sorry there are no pics but I'm dead tired and I forgot my camera today. I'll get some pics tomorrow night and post them up. Wish me luck!

Eventually, yes I do want to restore it. At the moment though I really don't have the resourses to do so. I need to get myself a nice shop of my own where I can keep it and work on it. Also my Rx-4 is doing a good job of draining my budget so for now the focus will still be on it. One project at a time....

I took a bunch of pics of the car tonight. I'll post them tomorrow when I have more time. I got some key parts I was waiting for today for the Rx-4 so I spent the night working on it.

Thanks for the comment on the Rx-4. I'm getting really excited to get it on the road. By the way, if you know any good sources for parts for that R100 let me know. I'm gonna need a bunch.

Quick question for you guys.....does anyone have any experience trying to put a car like this in their name. I'm told it's possible but no one seems to know exactly how. I don't have the ownership. The guy I bought it from didn't have it either, wasn't given one when he bought it. I'm thinking I'll have to find out from the MTO who the vehicle is currently registered to, try and contact that person, and get some kind of written consent to hand the car over to me. Hopefully the person isn't dead by now...... Any ideas?

That would be awesome if you could. For right now I'm just gonna hold on to it. I realize there is going to be a huge cash investment to get it back on the road so it will be a project later in life. I'm not sure exactly what my plans are as of yet. I would like to totally restore it back to stock if possible, but that would be even more expensive and an even larger project. First things first though, get it stripped and see what I have for sure. If and when I need parts I'll be sure to contact you.
