help with sensors

can you guys let me know what sensors these are and if I need them or not. I am putting this in a 66 vw baja.

oil level and temp i believe.
so you don't really need them, i don't have them connected on my rx2

www.mazdatrix.com sells a cover plate for #2 in your picture if you want to remove it.

which sensor is which though? If I can use a low oil sensor I would, even if its a bulb that it turns on would be fine(any extra safty is nice). What is that other thing???#1??
