Fd transplant into a rx-3
Hi, I have an fd motor going into my rx3 and i need some advice. Can i use the original mounting points from the fd and just modify my cross-member? Or should i use a 85 GSL SE front cover and oil pan? I know that using the GSL parts will work but i don't know if i can use the ignition trigger and water pump from the the fd? I also know useing the front mount limits my room for a intercooler. Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

you COULD use the FD mounting system AND use the GSL-SE front cover and oil pan. So the engine is more solidly mounted than just at the front and supported by the transmission.
For the FD mounts you'd need to fabricate a way for them to mount to the chassis. Might have to weld something on the frame rails for that
