Looks like I got to carb to work, I took the top part off and cleaned it on the spot. It was all gunky. I have another Cosmo engine laying around, I guess I can do a swap and pray for the best. Will keep you guys posted.

I decided to rebuild the stock engine, I just ordered the engine rebuild kit from Atkins Rotary. It's enroute to my house as we speak. We will see how it turns out.

I have 4 old school 13B 4 ports and one GSLSE engine. I can't get rid of any of them, they are hard to get but I have a friend in Conn. that has a 74-75 Big Script MAZDA old school 13B 4 port he is willing to sell and it's cracked open ready for your inspection. It is beautiful. If you are interested I will PM you his number.
Nice Cosmo! Register it on my guest book so I can try and keep track of the ones we keep alive ! Thanks Brian www.mazdacosmo.com

Too bad politics killed the 15A because I'm pretty sure the Cosmo chassis was designed to include the 15A as well as the 13B, 12A and 1800cc boinger in its engine portfolio.
Knowing that, the hard part is figuring out how to fit a 20B in there.

You learn something every day. I never knew there was a 15a on the plans...
go figure
The 15A was scheduled to come out in '74 or some time later. The 13B came out in '73 and was in two 1974 model year vehicles: the RX-4 and REPU.
There are several tranny mount holes on the underside of the Cosmo. It's my guess one set was to be used with the 15A.

Rumor was sometime ago, that the "new 7" would have a 16b right?

Engine is out of the car, never realized how big can a starter be from a Mazda. This thing was huge and I probably pulled a muscle because of the awkward angle. I made my mind and it's getting converted to manual.
