Man those are LARGE street ports! I would go ahead a get new bearings, its not worth putting it back together like that. Looks like its going to be a powerful motor when its finished.

I have four carbs to choose from, racing beat dellorto, rotary engineering weber dual 36dcds ( I think was from this engine), racing beat holley and weber IDA.

I guess I will run all four and see which I like best.

Hey all,
Sorry about the old thread reviving. I have made some updates and I put the car in Cardomain, so please rate it.

Another rotary on the road. Everywhere I go people want to know what is it. Is it a Jag? Aston Martin? Until they see Mazda and they hear the engine.

I sold the Yellow 79 and this is my daily driver and what a blast it is to drive.

Some of friends call me Bond, like James Bond 007. Ok, I can take a hint.

Here you guys go and check it out...

Just out of curiosity, how is it that y'all can declare the rotor bearings bad? Is it because of the wear pattern on the iron? Does it look like the rotors are free to wobble a little while doing their thing?

The Rotor Bearings had excessive copper showing, it also had rust at the joint of the bearings. The stationary gears were also worn out.. The E-shaft was wobbling slightly and you can see the wear on the bearings. To make sure I didn't have any issue, I replaced them. But the dead give away was the wear on the rotor bearings.
