Working with some 4 rotor bits on this latest project, the PAC billet housings are much, much softer than I would have expected from high end billet. The eccentric shaft looks good, minimal runout, didn't like how the counterweights are keyed. We'll see how it goes when I put it on the dyno.

On a side note I do have a factory 20b shaft and thick iron if anybody is interested.

curious what you mean by soft. Your using actual billet housings or did you mean plate? The plates have hardened wear surfaces that are replaceable from what I read.

Promaz goes as far as saying their plates are suitable for street driving as well as racing. Though I can’t seem to find much of anyone talking about running billet parts. Lots of photos of customers plates but no real testimonials from actual users

Side housings, what you're referring to as plates. I'm not talking about the wear surfaces I'm talking about the billet used to create the part itself; it seems much softer than I would have anticipated given that it's touted as a hardened series of aluminum. Whether or not it matters remains to be seen, this isn't going to be a crazy power number lump, it's just meant to sustain for a full season of 45 minute races. Also they're not nearly as light as I was hoping, and waaaayyy heavier than the older RB aluminum stuff I'm used to.

interesting . Have you compared them side by side with similar material. Perhaps softer is less brittle than the hard old cast peices. Was watching video of guy talking up the new plates and took a small hammer to old plate and without much forces knocked a big chunk right off one of the exterior/interior structural pin areas.

what series engine is your thick plate from? And what exactly is wrong with the shaft

best of luck with your motor build though like to see what you think of em after some run time

I think its a C, but I'd need to go over some things to be sure. Nothing is wrong with the shaft, it came out of a running race engine I just don't need it.
