So today as I was getting ready to open my store, I over hear the news from channel 13fox news say, Mazda has ended the going merger with ford and will stop making car with ford and it going to move production back home, 2013 will be the last year for Mazda car been build in the USA.

Has anybody else hear anything else?

They are just stopping manufacturing vesicles on US soil, which in my opinion is the best thing they could do. Having worked at a mazda dealer in the past, there were more workmanship defects in US made mazdas than the Japanese made ones by far.

As far as I know, the only vehicle Mazda is currently manufacturing in the US, is the Mazda 6. The JDM Mazda 6 is a completely different car from the US one, and from what Ive heard, a better car overall. I would suspect that after 2013 the Mazda 6 replacement comes out and it is the same vehicle sold in the US as Japan.

 

Yeeep. Just means the 6 will stop being "imported from detroit"

The ford ranger wasn't supplied by mazda. Every Mazda truck after the b2000 and b2200 was a rebadged ford ranger. The truck you are thinking about is the ford courier which was supplied by mazda.

 

ford wanted a fuel efficient pickup so they had mazda make the engine for the ranger. but i think they werent sold in the us

Friend of mine owned a 92 probe GT and would take it to a mazda place because the ford guys wouldn't know what to do with it haha.
