Bell housing issue

I'm trying to swap an old school REPU 4speed with an old school 5spd and there is a clearance issue with the lower shaft bearing and the bell housing. I have another 4speed as well and it too has a larger lower bearing. The difference is about 4mm. Has anyone encountered this?

Do I just modify the housing or should I source a different housing?

Long story short, just a quick tap of the shaft with a rubber mallet and everything fit in just fine. Haven't driven it yet, but it will be back in the truck today.
