Great Job I saw a documentary of old american cars that are in Cuba, its amazing the things they do over there. I saw this one car that what ever had original paint was original sheet metal, and what ever was primer color was new that they fabricated. The whole car exept for a small part of the roof, and part of the trunk was primered.

Thanks for the props to Glenn, but he IS the owner. The original owners had to abandon the project about a third of the way into it, so Glenn purchased the car from them and is working towards completion.

That's a shame that the original owners had to abandon the project after importing it and storing it for so long. I hope they get to admire the finished beautiful craftsmanship when Glenn finishes it! Loving all the updated btw

^Jeez... that's a pretty sad story. I know Glenn is doing a hell of a job, but I hope he didn't go overboard intentionally to put them over-budget thus reaping the benefit. I hope I'm dead wrong, but I'm just bringing it up because I've seen those types of situations in the past w/ ground-up restorations. Flawless build either way!

You obviously have never met Glenn. He would never do that to a client. Definitely not his style. He is very straightforward concerning all costs and potentials before beginning a project.

Here are the latest pics with carpeting completed.

Looks nice!
Mine is grey carpet with black leather seats.
Although now I regret the black leather, I should have kept 20 years ago the "chess board" upholstery. My old seats looked really groovy!
How look Glenns seats? How about the dashboard? Is it in good condition?

Hey, I found out we exchanged emails with Glenn 2 years ago. I contacted hom again and now we are friends at Facebook...

Glenn's car has the original "herringbone" fabric. I'm sure the seats and dash will be in "like new" condition before they're reinstalled. Glad that you both made the connection on Facebook.

Glenn just returned from a trip to California. Stopped by Jay Leno's garage to pick up his window glass. Apparently Leno's Cosmo had a huge crack and needed a new windshield, so Glenn loaned him his old glass, Leno had several windshields custom made, then shipped Glenn his glass back, which was broken in transit. So, Jay offered him up one of the extras that he had made. Glenn also picked up his finished seats, dash, and NOS boot that MNA happened to have in their warehouse. Nice....

Sorry for being so quiet. I've been consumed with finishing up my FD project. I'll ping Glenn tomorrow to uncover the latest status.

OK everyone,

Here's the latest message I received from Glenn. Probably will be firing her up for the first time within the next month!

From Glenn "Her is todays latest, just got the bumpers back form the 2nd plater, The first ones were not up to standards. The wheel covers look as well, with the correct silver and black paint applied. Also, the interior is near finished, just waiting for a new drivers door glass, (old one was scratched) and waiting for the radio to get back from the radio restoration shop, to finish the instrument panel so we can fire it up!

Also a photo attached of the new R360 project that was found on the RX7 club website,(thanks guys!) Where do you ever see 2 of those together as well!!"

That's it for today!!

So is Glenn still the owner or is it Mazda? Although this article is dated Sept 2007 and you're still providing updates from Glenn's shop so obviously its still in Glenn's hands. But I just wasn't sure who's Cosmo Glenn has.

Updates and pictures please

If you look early on in this thread, you'll see that Glenn originally owned the C&D car, but sold it to Mazda North America back in the summer of 2007. They were looking to purchase the car as part of their 40th Anniversary celebration of the rotary engine. The car featured in this thread is Glenn's as well. He was in the early stages of restoring this car when the original owners needed to exit due to financial priorities. He purchased the project from them and is continuing to make progress. I'm sure it will be completed before the fall of this year. I'll check in with him this week to find out the latest progress...

Well everyone, no new progress to post yet, but Glenn promises that the car will be completed soon. As the following pics show, he's been a little busy lately on his vacation to Germany to attend the 1st International Cosmo Sport Meet.

Also, follow this link for tons of additional pics!!
