ball joint press wont fit

I was trying to change the ball joints in my Rx4 this evening when I discovered that the ball joint press that I rented doesnt have the correct size in it. I can press down on the top of the joint just fine but the cups, or what ever you wanna call them are too small or too big. Do you guys know of any one that rents a more extensive ball joint press?

For my Rx2, my mechanic just used a couple short pieces of piping that seemed to be a similar diameter and pressed them out.

Nope I took mine to Napa Auto Parts. They have a machine shop there and charged me $10 to press in mine.

That sounds like the way to go.

I used the pipe meathod. It worked great! And while looking at harbor freight for things to make my ball joint press work I stumbled across a gasket punch set!!! Now I can cut back on my silicone usage
