92-95 929 S

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone can confirm if a FC Manual Tranny would be able bolt up to a 929 V6. Essentially converting it to a manual. I'm considering doing a possible 20B swap into a 929 as my next project, and wouldn't mind having a manual 929 until the funds reach the proper level. Not to mention I would need a manual tranny to do the swap.

Thanks in advance,

Hi,
Also the 929 HD was RWD as was the last large-sized Mazda, the HE, sold as "Sentia" in Japan and not offered for general export. Both the HD and the HE were offered with 4WS.

All 929's are RWD. the 92-95 was Mazda's answer to the resurgence of the big, RWD, family sedan... (ie, Impala, Caprice, Sedan DeVille, etc.)

The 89-91 929 was the only bodystyle that shared a rotary in Japan. The 92-95 is it's own bodystyle I believe.

The 13B was also offered in the LA2 (in export first generation 929 or RX-4), in the LA43 (second generation 929) as well as in the HB (third generation 929), however, the latter two only for Japan with 13B.

For Japan all the above three models were also offered with 12A.

In the HC (fourth generation 929) the 13B (turbo) was only offered in the JDM Hardtop version.

Why couldn't you do one into the newer one? There are plenty of non-rotary powered cars converted besides the 929, it's engine bay is huge compared to some others that have already been done.
