I believe there is an extra bung there with a plug in it. Problem is that would give me the temp from the wrong side of the thermostat. The fan would just be always on?

Prosport makes a temp sending unit that you put inline on the radiator hose... how close is upper hose temp to radiator temp anyway?

I see your point. I have my car set up in this fashion. It runs a 160 degree fox body mustang thermostat, and the fan switch in the water pump housing set at 185 on, and 170 off. After a spirited drive the fan does stay on a little longer than it would if the switch was in the radiator, but it is not ALWAYS on. And when it does turn off I know that the coolant in my engine is 170 degree-ish. Call me paranoid, but the factory 195 degree operating temp leaves little room between running hot and "o ****" I just blew my coolant seals. These things don't like to be overheated in the least. I don't mind a little extra fan running time sitting in traffic or idling at a red light...just get a good fan and not some ebay special...lol!

Here is my 1976 Cosmo with my lovely Wife 100% behind me getting it and loving it to death. This was the first day I got on base. My Soldier and I went to Aurora Colorado to get it.
I will also get some more better pictures of it soon.

Ok...see that sounds like just my kind of paranoid. Any particular make/model of switch?... I'm using the mazda oem t-stat from atkins. I don't have a fan yet, probably best off hitting pick-and-pull for something oem... no ebay shiz!

Thanks!

I did a pretty cheap cooling set up on my Rx2. Using an eBay radiator and a ford taurus 3.8 V6 fan and a dcc two speed controller. The Taurus fan is a two speed that sucks more cfm's than most aftermarket fans. I bet it would be a good fit on your stock rad too. The controller is a very nice unit far superior to flexalite etc and it's made in San jose!
Fan $35 pick n pull
Controller $80+shipping
L.e.d dash light $15 (optional)
eBay rad $160 (optional)

Sounds perfect. I have the e-bay radiator installed. Just need to get a switch hooked up.

I also need to convert the wiring to the rx7 alternator to eliminate the old cosmo voltage regulator. I'm sure its easier than it looks, just haven't gotten to it.

Buy the dcc fan controller and the Taurus fan you won't regret it. It's factory quiet but has nuts! The other day it came on in driveway and leaves started flowing out from under the car. The dcc controller is made specifically for these 2 speed fans and its easy enough a caveman could do it. Come visit and look at mine if you like

Ok, so there is no empty bung on the pump housing, don't know where I thought I saw one but whatever, I need a place to mount a fan switch. Would the t/stat housing be a good spot to draw from? Mine is old and crappy anyway.

Quick question... regarding the three fuel lines coming from the tank by the firewall.

The rear one (biggest one) is the main, the other two are return and vapor?

Don't know which is which.

Cranks, but no spark at the plugs.

Coils have power, just not sure if the ecu is fully in the game.

I'm not sure what to do for wheels. I know what I want, just need to make them work.

I have s4 frt & rear brake/strut assemblies that I'm hoping to swap on.
