3rd gen Auto/Manual rear plate Difference

as the title says what is the difference between the two rear plates off a FD automatic engine vs a FD manual engine.

Here it is simple and plain:
Automatic trans FD must use a motor with the automatic rear plate
Manual tran FD can use both an auto rear plate motor or the manual rear plate motor.


It all has to do with the starter. Auto FD's, the starter bolts on the side of the bell housing, and partially on the engine rear plate. The manual FD's the starter bolts in on the bellhousing.. So if you have an auto trans you can only use a motor from an automatic...If you have the manual trans you can use both, doesnt matter
