48 ida questions

hey everyone.

i am thinking of buying a brand new weber 48 ida.. ive heard that for rotaries custom modifications need to be done to a new 48 ida, is this true? if so what are they.. a

ok this saterday for sure.. i took off work already should be getting the carb on friday.. my old one is all f^cked up.. rebuilding it would cost me 300$ and its cracked.. so wtf might as well go for gold.. let me know what time.. the early the better (for heiny reasons) ... let me know what jets to bring as well.. ill pick em up on friday.. ok mang

whats up man i dont know what new you got, but all you need to do is make sure you have the 3 whole drilled under the butter fly it help with the low speed driving and when your on the highway you give very little throttle and it will be smooth. but check and se if it has it when you buy it because the old weber had 3 whole and the new have only two.

Yeah, all RB did back in the day was to add 3 progression holes to the existing 2. They also would extend the float bowl as an option. Of course, they'd also hog out the bores to 51 if you had a fat wallet, but that's a whole lot more work.

A few months ago, I modified a new IDA which was purchased by Racing Beat. No extra progression holes and it came with original VW specs!!!
