240hp Miata

I heard that mazda is going to release a rotary edition miata in a couple of years. I also heard its going to be like 240 hp. That would be so crazy, that thing will be racing motorcycles hehe

the honda S2000 is Miata-sized and has 240hp... and ts performance can be described as "pathetic".

A 1990 miata weighs 2116 lbs. And a 99 is just 2299. The S2000 is 2810 lbs.

how the hell can you say the s2000's performance is "pathetic" when comparing it to a miata? i love both cars but you're a friggin' idiot if you think the miata has enough power while the s2000 isn't up to par

Here it is... it's the September issue of Road and Track:
"But the next-generation Miata, due in 2004 or 2005, will have a rotary option. Look for power to be about 200 to 250 bhp, giving the roadster zero-to-60 mph times in the 5.0-second range. The car will be built on a shortened version of the RX-8's platform, and may come in both coupe and convertible forms"
