NJ 1992 Maxton Roller Skate 12A " CRAZY"

I have a Maxton Roller Skate with a 12a motor. I am trying to find a value for this car. Its kind of hard because there are only 50 or so made. These cars are very different then any other cars then most have seen. They have no doors and no roof, ful front end clip that flips forward to get at the engine. The frame is tubular steel and the suspension is from a Ford. The car is nuts and I am looking to unload it, so if there is anyone here that is looking for the craziest RX7, well here it is. I can email some pics, just shot me an email. johnsfiles@comcast.net
or call 6093323382

John

the guys at motorweek mag when they had the tv show did one several yrs ago. don't remember how much the car kit was but they told about several engines and they opted to use a rotary. after the build, it was put in a drawing and won by some guy in FL who's wife submitted his name. in trying to find it, i found out that it was later sold back to some executive of the mag and i think he was going to rebuild it. according to him, it was in pretty bad shape. as for it's worth, depends on how bad someone wants it. put it on ebay and see where it goes. how much would u like to get for it?

It looks like a cross from a Cobra to a Sprite and some Bradley gt lines in there.
Very unique!

I'd rock it, but it does have a really stupid name.

+1 to throw it on ebay and see what it brings.

Can they still be purchased as a kit? That would be so insane with an EFI P-Port or GT40 turbo setup!

No, they only made them in 1992/93. they will never be made again. thats what I think makes this car so much more cooler.

Maxton value

Hi. Saw your post and thought I'd add my 2 cents. My dad bought #49 on eBay six years ago and paid $13k. His is a stretch version. It was originally an automatic transmission, but he converted it to a 5 speed manual.

Someone had responded to your post about it being a kit car. It is not a kit. It was manufactured by a company in Colorado (they made 50, only 49 were road worthy.). The company went bankrupt when they couldn't sell the cars for enough to cover the cost of production.

Just to give you an idea of the value...
