putting my project together, and I have no idea where half the **** wiring goes. most importantly, the distrubutor?

also, looks like some of it was hacked up a bit from the last owner. I can't even figure out where the battery is supposed to hook up.

also, I have a S4 6-port motor in here, and the stock manifold hits the idler arm

anyone know if a regular old header for a S4 motor will work? I'm worried that it could get in the way of some of the other steering components

yea there is a bunch of hacking having been done there. for the battery there is supposed to be a tray just behind the headlights on the drivers side. It looks as though your main harness is still intact but I don't see the engine harness. I can get you pictures of a stock setup when i get back to the house in about a week or if you bounce over to the iwankle.com site they have links posted to things like wiring diagrams and FSMs and parts manuals for the old school cars

Here's a couple of pictures of my engine compartment the day I bought it. Completely stock engine bay accept it had an electronic distributor installed. Power steering and auto transmission (5 speed now) with working AC.

yeah the battery tray was super corroded and removed. its getting installed in the back, but I just need to figure out where the power wire connects to on the harness. hahah.

engine harness is there, but I only have maybe 5 plugs connected - for both the sensors on the oil pan, the oil press sender and water temp sender, and then one thats plugged into the distributor that is probably wrong.

I know one of them is for the alternator, but not being used since I have an FC alternator on it - just the power wire being used.

I just found a little extension harness the other day that looks like it may go to the distributor... we'll see.

and from 74rx4's pics I'm thinking a lot of the open plugs on the engine harness are probably for emissions. thanks!

I'll check out the iwankel.com site. if there are good diagrams I may just re-wire everything I need and dispose of the rest.

thanks guys!
