Nice progress. I've been looking for an RE-5 for a while but they rarely come up for sale in decent condition. I have a friend who owns one I've gotten to ride, it's an interesting experience due to the bikes weight. But the engines are really pretty bulletproof and last forever.

Thanks, hopefully I don't run into too many hiccups getting it on the road, a lot of the parts aren't easy to come by.

I got the wheels/tires, new chain/sprockets, and carb back on today ..and She runs!! I literally screamed with excitement when it finally grabbed and held an idle first shot.

The carb seems to still need a little adjusting, however I also premixed her pretty heavy for the initial startup, probably 30:1 ..ish. Now that It's running I'll just fill it up with straight fuel and see how much dialing in it really needs, from what I've read getting them dialed in is a serious process.

The clutch seems to be frozen up as well, but it could still need adjusting, we will see!

I got to actually ride it today!

The clutch freed up with just a little messing around.

The carburetor still needs some work though, I gave it a thorough cleaning again, added an inline fuel filter and it still only will take up to 1/3 throttle happily. About that same point is when the accelerator pump kicks in, so I'm thinking that I may have an issue with that. I have have fuel premixed at 100:1 right now so that's no longer an issue.

Got the new mirrors and horn on, horn isn't working..

Very excited !

Bikes running good now! needs a little tuning but everything seems to be in good working order! The horn even works! Everything works!

So for now it's going to simply be putting miles on it, getting it dialed in and a good detailing!
