Hello everyone I wanted to share my build on here since I am going with a 13B in my truck. I started work on in on the 21st of August so I'm nine days into it lol. My truck is a 71 Toyota Hilux that I bought from the original owner a little over a year ago. The truck ran great up to nine days ago the reason for the swap is that I want to go fast and I thought it would fun to try and achieve 350 to 400 horsepower to the wheels in a vehicle that only weighs 2350lbs

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions, I am currently debating whether I should somehow make the sequential turbo system work because of the lack of room or go with a custom exhaust manifold and single turbo set up. Ill keep this thread as updated as possible your opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks

 

Hmmm. Probably easier to go single, and the stock twins won't get you past 350whp easily/reliably.

definitely an interesting project. i'm in.

I would say ditch the twins. just keep in mind that while making them work may be "unique", remember so does a third eye.

 

Ditch the stock twins (heavy, retains a ton of heat etc) and throw in a small single turbo like a stock TurboII 89-92 S5 Hitachi HT18. It will spool instantly and scare the pants off of you every time. Plus it was designed for a rotary. It won't make your HP goal though. But do you really need 400HP in such a light vehicle?

Thanks for the positive comments everyone. I have no new real updates other then I cut out the transmission tunnel to better sit the engine better. Unfortunately I've been sick as a dog so I haven't done much hopefully I feel better tomorrow and weld a brace up front on the frame and cut the cross member a little to sit the engine further down and more centered into the chassis for better handling
