I have been actually thinking about that swap.
Custom mounts, T2 tranny, custom driveshaft, lots of room for turbo, a Vmount intercooler. It can be one sick machine.

if you have any info let me know. i thought about this like 6mo ago but no money. i asked it on nopistons but nobody had any input. the ka is so heavy compared to the 13b is given. but what about a 20b would the weight be roughly similar?

we are in the process of doing this in my buddys sr5. The biggest problem is the crossmember coming intact with the oil pan. All the electrical can be done using a standalone or megasquirt. We are going with a megasquirt because of cost. Also we are using a na s4 engine because we can get our hands on one for cheap.

**** off 240 guys? Why would it do that?
A 13B in a S13 sounds like a brilliant idea. The SR is a budget POS of a motor with a lousy head and stupid rockers instead of a true DOHC. The CA18 has a good head, but needs a lot of internal work to make decent power. KA24 is heavy as hell and utter wood until turboed, when it becomes even heavier.
From that pic of the white S13 the 13B looks beautiful in the engine compartment. So much smaller and nice and far back, you might even be able to balance the understeering pig that a stock S13 is. I just came across this b/c after looking through some RX-7 engine bays, I decided I wanted a rotary in my car. Too bad not too many people have attempted this yet.. Oh well, if I end up doing something about it, I'll be sure to document it and post pictures.

i think the 240 community would flame a little bit being that their mentality of a rotary is the same as an exploding engine.. but other than that.. i find that alot of them would appreciate it also.. and i have to agree.. i think it would correct plenty of the understeer in the s13's =P

/\/\/\ thats one big reason why i want to do this swap... and cuz i love rotaries to death... but i dont see why people would flame... oh wait i know why 240 onwers would flame... cuz even if they had a RB26... they wouldnt want to admit they got schooled by someone with a 1.3 litre engine... lol.... anyways... anyone have any ideas on this subject.... i personally want to drop a 20b in it

if ur gona go rotary in another car.. i sudgest you buy an ae86 and put it in that.. it will be way more fun... and since rotary doesnt have so much damn tourqe the chassis could handle it,,,
