12A Rotary

Hi

I got myself a Rotary 12A

How do i know witch year my 12A is and how can i find out .

Any suggestions

Post some pictures of the top and exhaust side of the engine.

its a twin dizzy found that it is a 1974 is that correct.
is it possable to change twin dizzys can use later model rotors and convert to single dizzy.

i think the twin dizzy was before 74, i want to say 72. as for changing to single, it's just a matter of swapping out the front cover. just remember if u do this IN the car, depress the clutch pedal and use something to keep it down. this will keep the thrust bearings/washers from falling down when removing the front pulley.

The twin dizzy engine has one less long through bolt. The twin dizzy engine is unique and the only main parts that interchange with a single dizzy are the rotors and e-shaft. I've looked at changing a twin dizzy front cover with a 12A RX-7 one and I don't think it's possible.

I have a lot of twin dizzy parts including rebuild kits.
