Thumbs up 1974 RX-4 turbo build

Pick up this beautiful car from papsmagu back in early Dec last year.
She has tons of work thats already been completed by the previous owner... redone interior, complete suspension overhaul, aftermarket brakes and rims
I enjoyed it for several months and then decided to install a REW that I had for my first gen in the 4. I was also on a time crunch as I was trying to have the swap up in running for DGRR 2017 in April.

When I picked her up.
Bridgeport 13b

More info of the car.... like I said previous owner already did a great job with her...

Interior
1. Stock Interior in really good condition – all redone. Black vinyl with yellow stitching
2. Stock seats
3. All gauges work – except the stock water temp guage.
4. The car does have an aftermarket temp guage and oil pressure guage. They are mounted just below the steering wheel. No holes were cut, can be easily removed if required.
5. Nardi Steering Wheel and Nardi shifter
6. Stock radio is not connected. Have speakers and wires but nothing is connected

Drive Train
1. Tranny and clutch seems stock
2. Rear end was swapped for a GSLSE with disk brakes – Aerospace Brakes (Cross drilled and slotted)
3. Custom SSR Longchamps 16x8 ET 0 up front 16x9.5 ET -6 rear. Wheels have step up lips
4. Brand new tires
5. Acbron Coil overs up front with camber adjustment

Exterior
1. Car looks to have original condition. Has plenty of blemishes but overall its in decent shape.
2. Rare front valance and rear spoiler
3. All Trim is there. Nothing missing.

One of the first things needed was to upgrade stock master cylinder.
It was not up to task with the upgraded brakes. I searched online and saw TurboDave used a Wilwood master cylinder on some of his old school builds so I bought one and had great results. This unit has a bigger bore ... stock is like 5/16 and this unit is 1" if i remember correctly. Thanks turbodave for sharing your findings.

Once I decided I was going REW, I purchased a Borg Warner 8374iwg. I picked this turbo because I had it on my REW swapped RX-8 and really enjoyed how it spooled and internal wastegate and bov.
I purchased the turbo through Addicted Performance which had the best price and fast shipping... I had the 8374iwg in my hand within one week... excellent service!

Pulled the carb and header and installed the rew lim so I could mock up the turbo location that I wanted.

I positioned the turbo and made a jig with the flanges.... I'm no welder but it was strong enough to be shipped to Gleaseman so he could make me one of his sweet manifolds.

Couple more pics, these flanges were used for mockup only, they were from a cheap old manifold.

The ecu im using is the Adaptronic 440 Select that I originally bought for my turbo gsl-se build.
I sent the harness out to Angel Motorsports to build me a custom harness for the RX-4.

The wastegate canister looks to close to the fender in the pic but there is plenty of room.
