Who wants to caravan to Sevenstock this year?

I would like to start this with a quote from the late Blake Qualley:

"Sevenstock is really a special gathering. Where else can you find yourself standing in line for a hotdog next to the President of Mazda (it happened to me), or chat it up with Koby Kobayakawa (the guy who ran the RX-7 programs), or go out and get drunk with the guys from GURU Motorsports (visiting from Australia & NZ)...two nights in a row? Where else can you see a 4-rotor race car, see a mint-condition Suzuki RE-5 rotary motorcycle, touch the Racing Beat land speed record car? And, what other gathering are you sometimes faced with the problem of taking home a bunch of heavy/oversized loot given away at the big raffle...sway bars, light flywheels, carbon fiber hoods, etc.? Many people *profit* by going!"
This year, it looks like I will finally be able to attend sevenstock, and I would like to see if we can get some early interest as to who would be interested in Caravaning this year!

For those of you who don't know, sevenstock is held every year in the second half of September at Mazda's R & D headquarters in Irvine, CA. It is the largest rotary gathering on the planet.

If I see enough interest, I will volunteer myself to organize all aspects of the caravan for the NW group.

Who's interested?

I plan on attending as long as I can get my car straightened out and get the time off work.

Aside from that I think it would be a blast to caravan it, the only problem is there would have to be some kind of meetup or something as you guys travel by but that probably won't be to big of a deal.

Seven stock is cool as it gets in the rotary word. I haven't been since SS4 when me and my bro drove straight through 18 hours SEA to LA in my vert.

I would like to do that again, but life and responsibility make that tougher to coordinate.

I'm planning on attending but first....before you can organize a caravan don't you need to know when the event is and where first? I just visited Sevenstock.org and didn't see any new updated info. Is this info something already posted that I missed?

Every year it has been in the last half of September. The official date should be coming next month as it has in years past. And I would assume it will be in Irvine this year as it has in years past. However when we get the real details next month we can make some more concrete plans. I just made this thread as I am curious as to who would be interested in such a thing.

I'd like to go as well. Caravan from here down, picking up 7's all along the way would be a blast. Not really up for doing it in one sitting though. I'd rather enjoy the trip down at least a little. Wife says no way not this year but I have awhile to convince her.

Granted gas will be expensive, but its never going to go down in price again. One of the reasons I am making an effort to go this year is I think that in the coming years, gas prices will make this trip near to impossible. Enjoy it while it lasts.

808 miles EACH way... say 15 mpg gas mileage... average $4.20/gallon... $453 just to get there and back... not counting driving around like an idiot while down there, beer, food, lodging, more beer, strippers.. lol

I hear ya. My t2 swap into my 1st gen is pretty much complete... just trying to find a carb setup. It's pretty discouraging. I need to get these last parts and finish up my project before I loose all interest

Its still happening. Latest word from Bern:

Guys... very sorry, but there are still several variables that Mazda is discussing with us, and the date, "STILL", cannot be confirmed. Again, sorry for the delay and angst... but one has to be patient when dealing with large organizations.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE SEVENSTOCK LOVE & SUPPORT!!!
