Vented Hood Opinions

Getting too hot under my hood, so its time for a vented hood. If anyone has any suggestions or pics as to what might look good on my car...please post them. I did find one at the following site http://www.rotorhead.ca/detail.php?adid=9 let me know what you all think of it.

cool and all, but I don't think a downward vented hood would work with all the stuff you've got under your hood.

This is what I would do, though.

(I know, I've worn out the whole vented hood thing.)

I like the striped one. Do you think that would be enough for my car as far as venting it?

The one you found is the most effiecent design. A scoop increases under hood pressure = bad It could even decrease the efficency of your stock grill plus decreases your handling. The cowel hood increases the efficency of your stock grill plus keeps your engine bay at a realative low pressure = high speed handeling. Do they make that hood for a FC ?

i belive i talked to you and codeblue1 about this at ABF, but in my opinion you should offset a TII hood scoop to the passengar side right over that SC. but some of those other scoops do look pretty good. whatever you choose im sure it will look great.

I think the turbo 2 scoop looks good but I totaly agree with Dr.Jones the car is desinged to be perfect so at high speeds the under hood presure would not be correct bringing the front of the car off the ground making it handle like crap under high speeds. I do think the cowel hoods would look awsome and you would have plenty of room if you tilted your radiator about 15 degreese. But your car is your car and how ever you want it to look is your perogative (speeling ).

see, everyone always ignores the vented hoods... the vents look great and they wouldn't cause any problems interfering with pressure. With downward vented hoods, you don't notice them until you're up on the car, either, so it maintains a mostly stock look

There was a vented hood? where? I didn't see one. ha ha.
Anyway, I think the vented hood looks great. I don't think I'd want any kind of protruding scoop. Just my humble oppinion.
