Tis the season.. For stolen cars >_<

My old 1990 Convertible has been stolen, sometime between Friday night [18th] and this [Sunday 20th] morning..

It was parked outside of 1065 SE Portlandia Ave, Hillsboro, OR

Oregon Plate: 652 EFZ

It's been reported to the Police dispatch, and I'm waiting for an officer to call me about it..

I've attached two of the most recent pictures I have..
The car's actually been sold to a friend who's been paying me back for it, I believe he's put different wheels on it since I sold it to him.

Other info: the headliner is missing and the driver's window regulator is broken, so the window can be manually pushed down.

Black interior, over 200K miles.

Has a small antenna mount bolted down onto the trunk lid [no antenna].

The passenger side front qtr panel isn't quite as bad as it is in these pictures [it was pop'ed out, but still slightly rough there]

Wowza! What is that like 3 in a row now.
Bummer guys. I hope you find it.
Seems like thieves are after our cars lately for some reason.
Whats up with that?

Great, now I'm worried...
I left my 'vert up in Hillsboro all week since I needed use of the truck.

But I'll let my friends up there to keep an eye out for yours too, one just had his 240sx stolen about three weeks ago

I have to say and agree with RW-7, I know they have been targeting our cars due to the fact I was followed yesterday. Of course took the guy the long way and ditched him. But it's bs man. I soooooo sick of thieves!! I will keep a lookout for you as well man! I live in portland/gresham area.

Why are Rx7s getting stolen at a rapid rate?

Thats because the ones stealing our cars are fellow rotary heads! Start asking around man one person has to know one person that knows another. These are the reasons why our cars are getting jacked.

1- They cant afford a rebuild so they take our motors because theres no serial numbers.
2- Junk yards are wiped out of oem parts.
3- Your car has super cool JDM RARE PARTS that only fit rx7s. ie. mazdaspeed,re amemiya, r magic
4- They left the 240sx/honda scene and now are head over heels with the amount of money it takes to maintain a rx7.

I met a guy in florida who said 240 guys are looking else where for cars because they are getting destroyed at a rapid rate. Rx7s especially the 2nd gen they look at because of its RWD platform, power to weight ratio and power output. Go on zilvia.net and read all the horror stories of peoples cars getting jacked in some cases in broad daylight.

Its not the late 90s when honda and acuras where the most stolen cars anymore. If its RWD better plan on multiple anti-theft features for your car.

If you have an N/A chassis, then you won't have a fuel pump relay & resistor. But there are PLENTY of other things you can remove. You definitely have the right idea.

I completely agree with this! ^

It's upsetting that a fellow rotor-head would do this. I really thought this was a much more trusting and tightly-knit commnity out here.

Someone can easily get onto this forum and learn just enough to jack these cars. Secret/hidden fuel-cut and power switches aren't really that much of a secret anymore... I am definitely taking a different approach to this myself.

^ true it is under the above the steering in the dash, deep in the front by the firewall. i added a cut off switch, and loosely attached my wires to it. if the tard pulled my steering colum cover off and ripped the cords out then tuff luck for them.

btw, i sold the car, but i know the owner well.

Guys, guys...

It's funny how often people mix up the Fuel Pump Relay & Resistor and the Circuit Opening Relay.

The Fuel Pump Relay & Resistor are only in the TII's. N/A's and TII's both have the Circuit Opening Relay under the steering column. Check the FSM.

Capisce?
