Unhappy TII Owner back in hometown and '7 deprived. --Bothell

Hey everybody.

I was in Texas for 9 years and I just moved back literally last week to go to school up here (I got homesick), and I'm freakin' missing all of my '7 buddies.

I have a streetported, 62-1 fed, methanol injected FC that is just begging to be driven around with some other '7s. Got a few more hundred miles on the refresh break-in, but I'd sure like to meet some fellow rotorheads.

I'm in Edmonds right now with my aunt/uncle until I can find a place to room in in Bothell or the surrounding area.

Are there any meets I should know about? How about passing inspection and stuff..? my car will not meet any emissions requirements at all.

Hope I get to meet some good ole Seattleites with some good ole RX-7s in my time here. Can't beat the northwest.

talk to you all soon.
-mark

Here are a few pics of my beater:

Beater... my ***! I love the wheels June 14th we are having our 1st Annual Tech Day and BBQ in Carnation. Come on out and join the festivities. BBQ and rotorheads. Also, the last Friday of every month is our Del Taco meet in Federal Way. Steve Kan is coming back in July after having just tuned 6 FD's over the weekend here. And currently there are some people trying to set up some more meets and drives. In my experiences you sometimes have to take the initiative to get something going.

OH and we are talking about an international Mazda meet in Bellevue having some of our Canadien friends come down and have a nice big event. I think you'll like it up here. We seem to think we're pretty chill people. As long as you don't try to be a bigger man than Adrian (Hyper4mance2k) you should fit in just fine

Christ almighty, I think that is the most adequate reply I have ever recieved on this forum.

Looks like I made the right choice moving up here!

Thanks for the reply though, I'll be sure to get out to as many meets as possible.

PS: thanks for the compliment on the car, it's not very pretty, but it's running well and that's all that matters to me. =)

Just don't be surprised when you see a lot of us show up in daily drivers... I'm sure you would understand why having a rotary powered vehicle yourself lol

o_O In what way is it not very pretty?
The only flaw I can see is that there's a small bump behind the RX-7 logo... [and personally I like dual exhaust... but that doesn't count]
I wish my cars were as clean as that..

No, no. Trust me. You know the saying "Photographs don't do it justice?"

Yeah, mine's the opposite.

Since that pic, there has been one more hit and run involving my rear. Yes, 2 hit and runs, I have no idea why. Stupid Texans.

It needs paint desperately, it's sort of an off-red (original red paint + Texas sun = fade) with a BRIGHT red S5 front bumper.

Oh, and the passenger's side FN01R-C is actually hyper black (sort of a gunmetal). The rest are just the normal silver.

But, it's a Frankenstein just like most of our cars are, and that's why I love it.

Tim: Believe me, I know.

Welcome back to the Pacific NW. My first RX7 was an 86 2+2 originally from Tempe, Arizona, I bought it at Doug's Lynnwood Mazda, moved to Phoenix, it was stolen in Phoenix. I had 188,000 miles on it and didn't change the oil for 3 years and I knew better. It was the best car!

I now have 3 but my pride and joy is my 90 TII...... unfortunately I am going through withdrawls because none of them are running. One of these days.

Welcome back, I never realized this was home until I left and came back.

Sounds like a beast, for some reason I can't see the pictures.

For emissions you might be stuck. I heard though that you can spend '$300' at an emmisions certified shop and that will wave your need for emissions. Not sure if this is true or not.

Where are you going to school? What are you studying?

Welcome to the NW!

As for emissions, I bought a new O2 sensor from a shop nearby and i was set for a waiver because i failed twice but i spent atleast 150. i believe thats what its set at now, might wanna double check though

and I cant say much about Tim and his taurus because im stuck with an old corolla until i put a new motor in my 7 lol

Going to UW Bothell/Cascadia for business/enviro. engineering.

I think I might have found a loophole on emissions, thanks to a certain someone.
