Surging during deceleration or crusing

Having problems with surging during crusing or deceleration. Runs fine win accelerating. Any info appreciated.

What kind of car is it? gsl? gsl-se? also what have you done to it so far?
little more info is needed before we can really help ya better... other than just the generic "looks like something is sticking" or "check your fuel pump" etc

Sorry, this is an 85 rx do not know model nor is there any on car. Only thing done to car is new main catalyic converter and a normal tune-up; plugs, wires, and distributor/rotor and cap.

Sounds like your throttle postion sensor on the front side of the carb is mis-adjusted causing your shutter valve to open at the wrong time. It's possible someone was trying to adjust the idle and turned the wrong screw.

yeah suprizingly, even a 1st gen DOES have a TPS!!! thjey sell it on mazdatrix for 1st gen carbed cars
