stolen car is back....sort of...

well the fuggin cops found my car, and said i had 15 mins to go get it before they impounded it. just so happens that i was northbound on 1-5 at like 445 when they called me...and the car is in marysville. so they impounded it. get home...call the police station, they give me the number to the tow co. call them, they get my info and say they are going to page somebody and have him call me back. he calls, informs me that its going to be $100 extra(since they are closed) if i want to get it tonight, ontop of the $200 to get it impounded. or $250 if i want to just go and get it tomarrow morning when they open. so i say to the guy." ****".

so my major bitch right now is how the **** does this add up. my car gets stolen. i paid 950 for the car when i bought it. they want me to pay between 250-300, almost a third of what i paid for the car, to get my STOLEN car BACK?!?!? holy ****. im soooooo ******* pissed offf right now.... ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGg. im pissed.

Damn that sucks. Why didnt you talk to the officer and see if he could have held onto it for a little. Is there any way that your insurance would cover it?

What ********! F'n ripoff. I would just wait until they put the car into auction after 30 days and try and buy it back cheap. See if you can barter with them. 15 minutes is not near enough time. Did they bother looking at the registered address to even see if it was realistic that you could make it there in 15 minutes? Besides... It is cheaper to pay an officer that it is to pay the tow company! If you have a cell service add the AAA option to your phone for like $2 extra a month. I know Cingular offers it for tows and for 5 gallons of gas if you run out on the road.

same **** happened with my bike except we told the cops don't call the impound, and they still did. $300 later i have my bike back. shitty thing is i don't think you can just let them have it. i was told they hold it for so long, charging you more daily, then auction it off towards your balance owed. not sure on this though. i wanted to burn the lot down

yea...they hold it until a certain ammount is owed, it ads 50 dollars a day until that ammount, and then they auction it. If the auction goes for more than i owe them, i guess they pay me, but i doubt that it would go for that cheap. and if it goes for less than i owe them, i have to pay the difference...**** im pissed.
