I confess.......... we have never done this before .............at least not since the time I dropped a 71 Buick 455 into a 51 Ford 2 ton truck about 20 yrs ago. This is a fun education for me. Makes me want to tear into my 89 this winter buhahaha.

Doesn't show alot of progress but progress was made. mk.jones63 was kept happy with a spirited drive around the block.

Done:

Driveline
Exhaust
Cooling Hoses
Belts
Oil cooler
Radiator
Intake

Still need to:

Fuel
TMIC
Fluids
Plug wires
ECU (Rtek 1.7)
Misc......

After getting the lower radiator hose tube weilded because it developed a crack during removal or installation and replacing a fuel injector o ring that got damaged during installation turned the motor over but it didn't fire. No leaks noted. Dam gremlins

So far checked fuel pump voltage - ok
removed (new) spark plugs to let it air out, they were oily

Any sugestions on starting a JDM?

JDM start up:

I put a timming light on the plug wires to verify spark - ok
Pulled the UIM and fuel rails to check the injectors. I fired the injectors to atmosphere and found out that when I thought the fuel cut switch was off it was on. Put it all back together. Once the problem was identified the fix was easy. Diagnosis = flooded. Put 1 oz of MMO in each housing using a siringe through the lower spark plug holes. I thought the battery was charged but it need to be charged a little. Alot harder to turn engine making compression. Fired right up, woho! Warmed it up to clear the MMO and noticed turbo was glowing so I reset the timing. It was retarted aalot. Its puring like a kitten now. It will Idle smooth at 500 rpm's but we set it to 750.

Completed my first RX7 engine pull and reinstall.
Striped a motor down to the short block and reassembled
Swapped a S5 into a S4 - S4 Front cover & OMP, S4 throttle body

Thanks for all the help and tech.

So now this story is over with a happy ending !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It runs rich at startup till it warms up, (I bet I can throw some flames) probably due to rats nest removal. Im happy with the boost, 9psi.

I currently have vac hooked up to the purge for the secondaries and capped on the primaries. Is this the best way? I could just cap em all or I could connect the primary to vac also?

only had it on the road for 3 days now and on the second day i had it out, i was pulled over...
no no....no tickets
first time for tabs....second time for car troubles on a hill (created traffic jam)...car idle was messed up cause of the screw on the throttle body to adjust the RPMs...so the car would die everytime i tried pulling out...
got that fixed today...and i can finally have my AC on without the car dieing on me while im sitting at a stop light...

i very much appericiate all the work my dad has allowed me to help put into and that he has put into my new "race car"...
jk....its to get from "point A...to point B" says dr.jones63 ....i agree, but its still fun to feel the speed in second and third at 5,500RPMs...hehehe

Just the rtek 1.7 and the 720's. A SAFC may be in the future and JJ.Jones88x isn't supposed to be driving the car hard or he's going to be on his own driving a pocket bike...........................

I would like to get a second harness for my Zeitronics WB and install it on the car and see where it's at. It seems too be a little richer to me. For now just want to make sure all the gaskets are sealed good and there are no bugs to fix. The same car with a S4 engine was making 235 RWHP and now its got a S5. Boost creep is lower spiking to 9 psi vs: 11 before and the timing is retarded a little bit.

I might just wait and upgrade to version 2.0 when it comes out - has SAFC features.
