Alright aside from the mad snow that just dropped would anyone from the local area be interested in getting together for a parking lot meet? I really am interested in meeting other local FC owners to share and learn, want to get some monthly meetings going on around here for parts connections ETC. Plus it would be nice to talk to some people who aren't stoked up jacking up their truck or calling my car a ricer.
Anyways, message me, post on here, or whatever it takes! Lets get a meet going together so we can show off our FC's and network!

Seriously no one? I see you guys driving out there at least 5 different cars that are distinctively different! Lets have a meet! After it gets done going biblical on our asses weather wise.
We had a meet a couple of weeks ago, it was just chadillac721 his wife and I but it was a start. Alot of people don't want to bring there cars out into the weather yet. Deena and Dave have a bazillin $$ into there cars so can't blam them for not wanting to bring them out, and theres others in the same boat.
With all that said, it is the time of the year to start planning the summers FUN! So if anyone else is interested "POST"

I think I have actually met chadillac before at a gas station lol. Anyways, I would be very interested in planning for summer or spring fun. Like I said I want to meet more RX7 enthusiasts. Every time I meet new people who are in to cars they just don't understand the beauty that the RX7 brings to the racing scene. I don't know if it's unwillingness or the fact that rotary engines have a terrible rep for being unreliable.
Regardless I think that they're the best racing platform known to man (I am extremely FC biased lol) but I love all RX7's equally. Not the RX8 though, that's the cousin we never invite to family reunions >.>
I would also like to get a parts network going as many people buy RX7s kill them and then part them out due to having no knowledge of how to fix them.

Well I welcome anyone and no I haven't owned an FD yet
I am sure I will actually but I have yet to find one that doesn't have power windows, powering steering, power locks, and power seats. My interest in cars over the years has developed in to more of a purist outlook when it comes to racing and driving. I hate front wheel drives, AWD is barely acceptable, and automatic transmissions are the devil. My FC reminds me of a big multi colored street legal go kart. I have to admit though even though I appreciate the rugged good looks of an FC I have always had a soft spot for the looks of an FD.
Bottom line I think I will be a rotary enthusiast for life. Nothing has taught me more about mechanics in my life than my little FC.
I would like to get monthly meets going in the summer and have everyone come out to participate. Maybe we could start an official club, hell make some T-Shirts or something? I would like to put together Dyno days and even talk to Spokane raceway so maybe we could sign up for a time attack day there and throw a BBQ. My deepest sorrow was seeing the tuner scene die shortly after fast and furious 1. I believe the social aspect the tuning scene brought to our lives was replaced with mySpace, MMO's, and rampant cellphone usage. I say we take it back and show the world there are people who still honor the traditions of tuning. More than that we are an elite group of tuners who own one of the most unique, majestic, and beautiful cars ever produced. We should be proud to be few, and I just can't let that fire die.

Im a genuine car guy myself. I like anyone who has the passion in cars no matter what it is. A all rotary event in my opinoin is kinda asking too much for this area, there isnot enough around here for one and two there is lots of other cool cars and people looking to have bbq's together. All my friends I hang with have mk4 supras, fd's, skylines, nsx, evo's sti's lotus's and we have cruises and bbq's all the time.
You will never find a fd with manual doors. manual power steering or manual door locks unless its been fabricated, and they never came with power seats. You can remove power steering like manual racks i modify. the power doors and locks dont really matter when you get into a high power rotary like the fd.

Really? Power door locks and power windows is too much electronic stuff for you? It is pretty easy to make the car non-power steering if that is you boat. There aren't too many cars that are more of a drivers car than the FD. My FD is just a ridiculous animal compared to my other car.
Good luck getting some good events going on out in Spokane. There isn't much happening anywhere right now because it is still cold. People will get more active once spring rolls around.
+1 On organizing events with other types of cars.

I've been driving the snot out of my FD through 3 years of autocross with 2 clubs, the endurance races in Medford, and I think one track day.
The single most reliable part of the car is the 13B REW.
Single turbo, 350 Wheel HP.
Keeping the turbo oil return and power steering leak free is another issue.

Hit me up with a PM for my digits if you're interested in an RSVP! I need to know what times are good for people and how soon we should try to swing this (I am assuming it will be after april). I would even be willing to contact the owner of SPR to see if we could hold the event in there parking lot. Regardless, bounce some ideas off of my people, let me know what time is good for you, and above all else
keep the non-JDM peeps out!I am willing to put in the time to contact all the local car clubs and forums that I know of to get the word out as well if this is the direction we would like to take the car meet. Also, anyone is welcome even though I would like to hold it locally. So if you have friends that want to come over from Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, or wherever (houston for all I care) they're welcome. But I would like all the local owners to meet and get some networking going so we can keep this seen alive!
Silver: Regarding the power locks, windows, etc. I don't dislike those things because they sap power, I dislike them because they feel a little excessive and far from the purist togue type driving I am interested in. Ferrari really did well with the F40 because of what a minimalistic approach they took with it, consequently I try to live that minimalistic style with my FC to keep everything pure.

Logicalbomb, I like your enthusiasm. Inland NorthWest Rotary's Has been around for years but when the economy took a dump so did car clubs across the country. Our website and forum (New) are still up at INWR.Org if your interested. We can put some updated information on it and see where things go.

Tried to get a hold of Chad and had no success on it, as for finding the joint the most electronic thing in my FC is my stereo deck which has a docking station for my iPhone/GPS, so finding the place shouldn't be bad. I was hoping to see silver and a couple others there but the thread died down. I will have to pick your brain about do,e fuel management choices on my car as I am struggling to put the parts together to jump to boost. Anyways, I will tell you more when I see you tonight.
