You guys are after blood.

I must have missed something.

I still say get a solid FB with a bad engine and drop your good power plant in it. You are just going to scrap the rusty one anyway.

Yeah... like we are saying. its going to be 400$+whatever ya have to do for it. Not just straight up 400 for a reliable good car.

I voted no because what you really need is a pocket bike.

< $400
fun to drive, as long as your friends don't see you.

ok actually i did like working on the fc but didn't have the cash to keep it up thats really the only reason i had to complain. i mean seriously if i had the money i wouldn't have "bitched" (as kettleman puts it) cause i just would have baught all the parts i needed.... it was because i couldn't afford the upkeep not cause i actually hatted working on it cause i love working on the mechanical side of anything i spend hours tunning my cars when i can spare the time i Really want to do a rotory rebuild so i will finaly know what fully makes one tick thats why i like my curent rotory project....it may be small but it's still a rotory. I have become very intrested in the rotory sence i got the car i can take a v8 apart in my sleep but i only know how a rotory works not what part does what i have only basic knowlage on that part so yeah i actually like them very much just don't know a ton about them

also i agree with you all about the cost thing........ i didn't know this would turn into such a slam fest though i'll just look into somthing else then for all of you who said no if you have any ideas on another cheep car it would be great if you posted thx

I said No because Id hate for you to get into a fb for $400 that needs lots of work. Then your stuck with another non runner that you cant fix. Though on the other hand if you really look around you can find a cheap fb that runs great. We found a parts car that had a perfect running motor, and another parts car where the body was great. So we could have had a great running/looking fb for $200.

So on the good side of things...look around, don't be in a hurry and yes you can find a great deal.

It almost sounds like you're looking on the wrong side of the state. The cheap ones are still around over here. Generally something small goes wrong, and the owner or the owners mechanic, decides it's dead. You buy it, replace a vacuum hose, change the plugs, pull start it, and tune it up. Happens quite often over here.

It all comes down to do what ya want to do. Don't let other decide your happiness, if you want to get a 1st gen then get one. We are just saying dont rush and get one, if so you will end up with a pile.

if you're looking for a cheap ride, might i recommend a probe? the 1st gen NAs are easy to find under a grand, and they're typically reliable. people like them, too (i think they're ugly).

if you find a 2nd gen GT for cheap though, let me hear about it. i want one.

get an MX3, they are inexpensive, get great mileage, and share parts with a bunch of other cars. I think that you would run into the same sort of probs with a 1st gen that you had with the fc. no bucks to fix things right... just my 2cents
(and save your money for my TII)
