Chris, if i dont get mine dun on time and beckys is not going, are u? need a co- pilot?

Flying down this year, and renting a car. I called every place I could think of last year to try and rent an RX-8, but no one had them for rent. So I will at least try to rent a Mazda.

Does anybody else have a lot of work to do on their cars?

I have to find a job, pay marc for the last work he did on my car, sell my truck, buy an engine, rebuild it, buy another transmission, have marc at FD3S engineering do the swap and then break the engine in. And have enough cash put aside to pay for gas, food and a hotel. So I figure it will take nothing short of a small miracle to get everything done by then.

Yeah, I thought about flying as well since it's so much faster, but since it would cost more for me to fly I figured I would put that money into my car instead.

Here are some of my estimates

Flying: 8 hours
$500 per person round trip

Driving: 14h 19m
$223.04 total round trip
$111.06 per person

Hotel: $297
$148 per person

Food: $100 per person

Flying with a roommate:$750

Flying without a roommate : $900

Driving with passenger/roommate: $360

Driving without a passenger/roommate:$ 620

Ooooooooh i might have to take a detour to ashland and hit the hills there!! Anyone ever been there? Best mountain roads in oregon and washington!!! SCAAAAAAAARY Fun!

Talked the the guys in Nor*Cal and they are interested in joining up with us.

We have two options, we can drive to Sacramento (about a 9 hour drive) on Thursday, spend the night, then wake up early Friday and drive the rest of the way down to Irvine (about a 7 hour drive) or we could drive straight down on Friday which will take about 16 hours.

Thats about right. I drove with a friend in his FD for SSX. I think we both spent around $300 on the trip with gas, food, and hotels. Thats not including all the money we spent at the event.

I hope to be able to set aside some cash and go, I'd love to be able to do it.

But I got my car down at FD3S Engineering myself, and have to come up with money to fork over to Marc for getting my car fixed. :p

Lets hope we can get a good group possibly going down this year!

Throwout bearing came out, shredded my clutch and pressure plate... need to get flywheel resurfaced probably as well... And my tranny has always been a little iffy since I bought the car...

So I got one of those to put in too.

All thanks to Derek.

First thats getting fixed is my moms GTU, then onto my car I guess... ha
