Save PIR Drifting: people need a safe outlet
Im plagiarizing Northwestnissans on this but its less typing for me:
Due to a series of unfortunate events, Portland International Raceway has discontinued the Drift Invasion series.
Over the years these events have grown into a great way for people from across the northwest to experience drifting in a safe and legal environment. The loss of this series will unfortunately lead to an increase of Street Drifting, increasing the chances for injuries and destruction of property.
Please support Drift Invasion by signing this petition, re posting it on every forum you belong to and sharing with your friends. Only together can we regain the privilege of drifting on the finest track in the northwest.

It's a sad thing, I hope it gets running again. I've been meaning to get out to one of those events, but never found time. I heard what happened to, its a shame. I've already signed the petition.
Based on what I heard happened at this event, I doubt PIR is going to let anything like this happen again soon and certainly not from the same group.
What proposed changes have been presented to help prevent these unfortunate events from happening again? It might be more helpful to present a solid plan to deal with the problems and to provide a system so they don't' happen again then to just sign a petition.

What I heard was that the event was getting out of control.
* People hot ******* on the service roads and on the roads and out of the event.
* A serious accident at the last event involving a wrx that was totaled (Thankfully, no one was hurt)
* People running out on track, a huge safety no no.
Does anyone have first had experience with what happened?
Signing the petition isn't going to bring the event back. Finding ways to prevent these things from happening in the future is the best hope there is.

pir has some pretty ridiculous rules sometimes. like going 10mph or slower while coming into the acutal event a long all of those roads. when i heard that i just about fell over from laughter. but ppl running out on the track they should just be kicked out of the event. y the hell would u even do that, "hey theyre r some really heavy cars going really fast and they're going sideways. i think im gunna run out where they're driving." .

Play by the rules, and your chances of having a venue for motorsports events are much greater.
